Explanation of Services
· Career Assessment – Counseling session to identify family of origin career choices, history, interests, values, abilities, and career aspirations utilizing DISCOVER and Self-Directed Search. 2 Sessions
· College Planning Consulting – Education for students and parents on post-secondary basics to include terminology and procedures of admissions, financial aid, college life, and types of degrees. Discussing common myths and facts of college admissions. Also provides a time-line for the college selection process and explanation of admission procedures to include deadlines, college visits, resume and essay development, and recommendation letters. 1 Session
· College Assessment – Discuss student’s needs and desires for college based on academics, extra-curricular activities, possible or intended majors, standardized testing, and demographics (location, size, type of college). This session will identify 10 possible colleges (any combination of reach, good-fits, and safety schools) based on individual needs of students. 2 Sessions
· Application preparation – Assist student with managing the application process from creating a time-line for deadlines to reviewing, editing, organizing and even mailing all components of the application (application, transcript, standardized testing results, resume, personal essay, recommendation letters). Direct contact and follow up with admissions counselors to advocate for student. 2 sessions each application |
